Andaz Turks & Caicos Details Emerge
Grace Bay’s hotel lineup is about to change. Andaz Turks & Caicos at Grace Bay has shared new details ahead of its expected spring 2027 opening. It will be the first Hyatt hotel in Turks and Caicos and the first Caribbean island resort for the Andaz brand.
Location
The resort sits directly on Grace Bay’s white sand, steps from Bight Reef within Princess Alexandra National Park. It faces west, so sunsets are built into the design of the restaurants and beach spaces. Guests arrive via a wood-lined corridor inspired by the framework of an overturned boat. RAD Architecture designed the property, and Modus Operandi, whose portfolio includes Andaz Peninsula Papagayo in Costa Rica, handled interiors with Hyatt.
Rooms and Residences
There are 132 keys in total: 59 hotel rooms and 73 branded residences, most of which will join the resort’s rental program. Residences range from studios to four-bedrooms, each with a balcony or terrace and a Bosch kitchen. The largest four-bedroom layouts reach up to 8,336 square feet of indoor and outdoor space. Ten penthouses will have private rooftop plunge pools, and select other residences will have private pools. Design details pair natural woods and textured fabrics with Caribbean art, and headboards reinterpret the striped patterns of traditional Turks and Caicos dress.
Four Places to Eat and Drink
- Tamarà: The signature oceanfront restaurant, serving brunch and dinner with global bistro dishes and Caribbean influences.
- Baie: A two-level space beside the pool, casual by day and sunset-focused in the evening.
- Lobby bar: Focused on punches with citrus, botanicals and island flavors.
- Palmette: A café and marketplace with single-origin coffee, daytime food and locally made goods.
Spa and Recovery
Runa Spa & Wellness spans 7,000 square feet with five treatment rooms and uses locally sourced salt in reference to the islands’ salt-making history. Guests can book guided thermal sessions combining sauna, cold plunge and rest. A separate recovery room offers compression boots, massage chairs, red light therapy and vibroacoustic therapy.
Pools, Courts and Kids
The resort has three pools, tennis and pickleball courts and a Kids Club with artistic direction by local artist Pamela Leach, featuring marine-life murals and a yellow-submarine climbing structure.
The Reef Angle
Andaz is a founding partner of the Reef Keeper Conservation Partnership with the Turks & Caicos Reef Fund, supporting projects including protective buoys installed at Bight Reef in 2025. One percent of sales proceeds from six Reef Collection residences is pledged to reef protection. For snorkelers, walking from the beach to a well-known reef is the attraction. For the destination, tying a development to reef protection speaks to a real tension, since Grace Bay’s value rests on its marine environment.
A Delayed Opening
A note on timing. A separate travel-industry source says the resort was originally scheduled for 2026 and is now bookable from April 1, 2027. Caribbean Journal’s current target is spring 2027. Travelers planning an opening-season stay should confirm dates.
How It Fits Grace Bay
The arrival follows Hotel Indigo Turks & Caicos. Grace Bay has seen a wave of branded residences and resort projects in recent years, and Turks and Caicos has long competed for affluent travelers with its beaches and private villas. Andaz brings a lifestyle-oriented brand known for design and local flavor, which is a different pitch from the ultra-traditional luxury of some neighbors.
Traveler Takeaways
The residence-heavy mix (73 of 132 keys) matters. It suggests a product aimed at families and longer stays, with kitchens and extra space, and means hotel-room inventory is relatively small at 59. Ask about rental-program availability, since residences are individually owned and policies can differ from standard hotel rooms.
What to Watch
Watch for opening-date confirmation, opening-season rates and early feedback on service consistency. For snorkelers, check how access to the reef is managed within the national park. For wellness travelers, the thermal circuit and recovery room could be a draw, though what is offered at launch may be phased.
Spring 2027 is not far off for those who plan luxury travel well ahead, and Andaz is a notable new option on Grace Bay.
