Our guest is Lt. General Russel Honoré. Many of you might remember General Honoré as Commander of Joint Task Force Katrina—where he received wide acclaim for his stellar handling of recovery efforts throughout the Gulf Coast region—and in particular the city of New Orleans.

General Honoré has held numerous commands across Europe, Asia, Africa and South America over his 37-year Army career—many having to do with disaster preparedness and response.

We wanted to have him on our show to discuss a wide range of topics—from America’s crumbling infrastructure , to COVID-19—and the affects of climate change.

His home state of Louisiana has been hit be two hurricanes in the same region within six weeks—and as we’re recording this podcast—Hurricane Zeta is bearing down on the Louisiana/Mississippi Gulf Coast.

You might be asking yourself what any of this has to do with travel and tourism—we think it will become abundantly clear as you listen to this podcast.

You can learn more about General Honoré on his website generalhonore.com.
