The birth of Kelly’s Kuisine, a vegetarian lifestyle brand was born of necessity, but not for health reasons. Kelly Henry has been a vegetarian for over 25 years. Her journey to becoming a vegetarian started at home when she discovered cooking two separate meals for her husband and herself simply wasn’t sustainable. Kelly always loved experimenting with Caribbean and international cuisine, and the health benefits of her lifestyle change speak for themselves.  

She studied International Cookery and Bar Technology and this knowledge coupled with her love of cooking earned her numerous culinary awards. This led to her first book, Fine Dining Caribbean Vegetarian Recipes which was nominated for Gourmand Cookbook of the Year 2018. 

Her YouTube Channel, “Kelly’s Kuisine” has become a hit. She posts weekly recipes featuring food and drink sure to satiate your appetite through healthy eating. Listen as Kelly tells us how she got started and what’s next as her home country of Barbados comes out of this pandemic.

Kelly shares many amazing stories, including how her lifestyle change has actually improved her own health. Her litmus test for her many recipes is her teenage son. If he like’s it, you can rest assured, you’ll probably like it too, “he’s a tough critic,” she says.
