Our guest is travel writer extraordinaire and friend of the podcast Katherine Parker Magyar. Her trip to the Galapagos Islands last year unleashed a torrent of emotions within about the power and beauty of nature when left unspoiled by man.

Here is one of Katherine’s observations—

It is truly stepping into another world because Ecuador was really spectacular with the way that they preserved these islands. And when I say that they preserve these islands, I mean, you’re gonna swim, and sea lions aren’t going to run away—animals interact with you, as if you are not an enemy. It’s absolutely insane. And there’s nothing like that anywhere else in the world.

Katherine is a New York based writer covering travel, lifestyle and culture. Her works have appeared in Architectural Digest Forbes, The Week, Business Insider Trip Savvy, The Daily Beast, Elite Daily and more. She loves to travel because she likes meeting new people and experiencing different cultures. Her parents took her to the Arctic Circle when she was only 14 months old and she’s been traveling ever since having visited six of the seven continents, 63 countries and all 50 states and counting.

Frequent listeners to this podcast might remember Katherine from our season one episode Distant Adventures for the Intrepid Traveler, where we discussed everything from Husky sleigh rides to the Arctic forest of Finnish Lapland to sailing the Rio Negro to the heart of the Brazilian Amazon.
